The Pediatrics Section, OMA (PSOMA) is committed to representing Ontario’s pediatricians in all tariff matters and providing you with the most up-to-date and relevant information.
Tariff matters include those related to billing, fees and remuneration. We actively represent pediatricians during the negotiation process with the ministry for new Physician Services Agreements (PSAs), by advocating and submitting priorities to the OMA’s Negotiations Task Force (NTF). During the implementation of a negotiated PSA the section submits proposals for fee changes and increases to relevant OMA and Ministry of Health committees, such as the Physicians Payment Committee (PPC).
The PPC is tasked with providing recommendations for the implementation of compensation increases for each constituency. Additionally, it aims to modernize the Schedule of Benefits in a revenue-neutral manner by making adjustments to schedule language and fee codes.
Discover important dates in the PSA process, including payment schedules, funding increases, program and policy adjustments, as well as timelines for committee and working group activities.
Important Updates:
As of May 2025, recent increases in payment continue to be implemented. This is a rather complex process which has generated many questions. We have created this slide deck document with pediatrics-specific information to help make the payment increases you are seeing easier to understand. The proposals for permanent fee increase the Pediatrics Section has submitted to the Physicians Payment Committee (PPC) are also included as well as information on targeted announcements that have been announced in recent days, including a substantial increase to parental leave benefits.
The Premium Member area has additional resources, including recordings from meetings when important changes are explained by our PSOMA team.
